A fire had destroyed this forest years before my working visit to the Arizona Pinaleno Mountains while shooting a Discovery Channel program. These trees are the ghosts. Although dead they may stand for another 100 years before they return to dust. In this image they eerily defy death as the sunset basks them in its warm light.
